Akio Ofuji, the global brand director for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV game, announced in a “special program” on Thursday that Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has resigned from both Square Enix and its subsidiary studio Luminous Productions on October 31.
The subsidiary is staffed by many members of the development team for Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy XV went on sale worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2016.
Tabata wrote in a letter that he is working on a new project and has started his own business to work on it.
