Sakura Wars Character Designer's Original Art Exhibition Planned in Tokyo and Osaka This Summer

Tokyo-based company Art Collection House plans to hold “Sakura Wars ~Hidenori Matsubara Original Art Exhibition” to display 30 original arts from Sega’s long-running Sakura Taisen/Sakura Wars game franchise drawn by its character designer Hidenori Matsubara in Tokyo and Osaka this summer.

In addition to displaying 30 arts, Matsubara will also reveal his new painting of the Sakura Wars characters, and will join a talk show and autograph session at the Tokyo venue on August 12 and the Osaka venue on September 8.

Based on the original designs by manga artist Kosuke Fujishima (You’re Under Arrest, Oh My Goddess!), 53-year-old Hidenori Matsubara has served as character designer for the game franchise for over 20 years since its launch in 1996.
