Despite the current behemoth at the Japanese box office, the official Twitter account Kyoto Animation’s Violet Evergarden the Movie, which opened on September 18, announced that the anime film has exceeded 1.5 billion yen (US$14.3 million) at the Japanese box office after being in cinemas for 38 days, nearly double that of last years Violet Evergarden Side Story: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll.
