He described the film as “[1995 Michael Mann film] Heat, except with teenagers, and one of those teenagers has superpowers.”
In an interview with film news website Collider posted on Monday, scriptwriter Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four) described his work on Netflix’s live-action Death Note film.
He had penned a draft of the script, but had to leave the project to work on The Exorcist television series.
The production eventually hired Kyle Killen (Lone Star, Awake, Mind Games) for the final rewrites on the script.
