The latest My Hero Academia anime continues to do well in Japanese theaters, with the official Twitter account for My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission announcing today that the anime film has surpassed 3 billion yen at the Japanese box office – the first film in the franchise to do so –, with the full box office report for the Weekly Shonen Jump adaptation released.
According to Mantan Web, as of September 20, My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission has made more than 3.08 billion yen (US$27.63 million) at Japanese cinemas on the back of over 2.24 million tickets sold.
World Heroes’ Mission only needs US$2 million to be the highest-grossing My Hero Academia worldwide.
