  • Tatsuki Fujimoto has a deep appreciation of cinema and of storytelling in all its forms. He really taps into the positives and negatives of storytelling and mythmaking. He shows how the act of creating stories helps us better understand our own life story and trauma. In addition, a great story delivered in a powerful way can resonate with others, make them cry, and make them appreciate life and one another a little bit more. It’s transcendental in a way that no drug can be. You share an experience with the author in such an intimate way, getting into their head in a fashion that merely having a conversation can never achieve.

  • An intimate, and also kind of quirk story about loss, grief, art, and remembrance. With long silences and an unexpected element of fantasy, the things that make it so strange are also the things that make this story stand out, and it sure won’t leave you indifferent, but it will stay with you for a while.

  • Might be the only publication in my life I started and finished on the same day it came out. Granted, you can get through it in a good half hour, but you’ll want to read it again with different perspectives and interpretations. What an amazing one-shot story. Fujimoto is a great story crafter. Props to Viz Media for the review copy.
