Tombs: Junji Ito Story Review

Tombs by Junji Ito is a short story horror collection. Ito is a master at making you feel uncomfortable through the use of body horror illustrations. He uses close ups to his advantage to really make you feel the ick.

You can never be disappointed by Junji Ito. Each story in this collection was so incredibly unique. In so few pages, Ito manages to suck you into the story and connect with characters you barely know. In a horror world of humdrum monsters and half-baked plotlines, Ito stands above it all.

Another win for Junji Ito. Tombs is another excellent collection. Some stories are stomach churning (best not to eat just before reading these). Other stories are legitimately eerie. A couple are even heart breaking. I highly recommend Tombs to Ito fans, and it’s a great jumping off point for those new to his work. Fantastic review copy sent to The Artifice by VIZ Media.
