Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba continues to be a publishing juggernaut in Japan, proving so popular that the latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (in which Demon Slayer is serialized) is being sold at Animate’s Akihabara location via lottery style drawing, a move that is largely unprecedented in the history of weekly manga magazines.
Whether the demand for the latest issue will result in similar drawings in other Animate locations and from other anime and manga vendors is currently unknown, but judging from the red-hot popularity of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as well as the limited edition bonus goodies, it’s likely to be a big seller.
