Awaji Island in Hyougo Prefecture will be the home of the latest theme park in Japan, and it will be centering around anime and manga.
The theme park is called “Nijigen no Mori”, which literally means “2D Forest”, and it will feature several anime or manga-themed attractions.
The theme park was originally the “Awaji Manga Anime Island”, but it drew less and less visitors each year, and the Pasona Group has announced plans to revitalize it.
It is slated to open in summer. the Hyogo Prefectural Awaji-shima Park Anime Park “Nijigen No Mori” plans to offer “a mixed entertainment of ‘two-dimensional contents’ like manga and anime, and nature.”
