CAPCOM announced on Wednesday that it is developing a new, as-yet untitled Nintendo 3DS game that will use IC cards, which are used in Japan to pay for public transportation fares.
Players tap the IC card on the Nintendo 3DS, which will give players items and allow them to converse with characters.
The exact nature of the items and characters will vary depending on the data on the card, such as riding history.
CAPCOM has not yet revealed the game’s title or exact mechanics, but the game is part of a planned project done in conjunction with local railways with the intent to revitalize local areas.
