The live-action series was Netflix’s second Resident Evil adaptation, as the streaming platform previously produced a 3D animated adaptation in Infinite Darkness, which leaned much closer to the video game franchise and featured the voice actors for Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield reprising their respective roles from the Resident Evil 2 remake in a storyline that bridged the fourth and fifth game in the franchise.
Hollywood trade newswire Deadline is reporting that Netflix has shut down its live-action TV series adaptation of Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise after premiering on July 14 with 8 episodes.
While the adaptation features the signature creatures and familiar elements from the video game franchise, it wasn’t enough to sustain consistent viewership.
