It doesn’t look like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train will be making any stops soon, as it was announced today that the anime film sequel to the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV anime has exceeded 20.4 billion yen (US$197.9 million) at the Japanese box office, surpassing Howl’s Moving Castle to become the 3rd highest-grossing anime film at the Japanese box office in just 24 days.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train opened in Japanese cinemas on October 16 and had the best opening weekend in Japanese cinema history.
Demon Slayer is only the 6th film to ever pass 20 billion yen in Japan.
