Weekly Shonen Sunday previously noted that Meitantei Conan Zero no Tea Time (Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time), the spinoff manga series by Takahiro Arai centering on the character Tōru Amuro, will have new chapters when the main Detective Conan manga is on hiatus, and will not publish chapters of the manga otherwise.
This year’s 43rd issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine revealed on Wednesday that Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan manga will take a nine-week hiatus starting with the magazine’s next issue and continuing through the 52nd issue.
Detective Conan has been running since 1994, and in August it became the first Weekly Shonen Sunday series to publish its 1,000th chapter.
The 22st film in the series, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer (Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikkōnin), opened on April 13 and became the highest-earning film in the franchise’s history.
