Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO has made over 670 million yen (US$4.98 million) based on 500,000 tickets sold in the first two days on just 407 screens, beating out Top Gun Maverick for the number one spot based on admissions.
The latest Dragon Ball Super anime film opened in Japanese theaters on June 11 after a short delay, marking the first time a fully CGI Dragon Ball film has been released.
Though Broly opened on a Friday, giving it the full weekend while SUPER HERO only had the two days.
