Toei released the updated box office numbers for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time today, revealing that the final Evangelion film from creator Hideaki Anno had made more than 6.89 billion yen at the Japanese box office, continuing its reign at number one at the Japanese box office, it being the highest-grossing domestic Japanese film of the year, and being in the worldwide box-office top 10. In total, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 has made 6,898,613,200 yen (US$62,343,436) at the Japanese box office off the back of 4,513,374 tickets sold in just 28 days.
He also runs a YouTube channel about Japan stuff called TheDoctorDazza, tweets at @DoctorDazza, and posts photos of his travels on Instagram.
Domestically, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 has outgrossed every other Eva film in yen, but remains the second highest-grossing worldwide after Evangelion: 3.0, though will likely surpass its predecessor with just its Japanese domestic release.
