Anime director Goro Miyazaki, the son of Studio Ghibli co-founder and director Hayao Miyazaki, will supervise the Japanese release of the Chinese CG-animated movie Monkey King: Hero is Back.
The story is set in Chang’an, and centers on an orphan boy who breaks a 500-year-old seal on Sun Wukong, the Monkey King.
He then directed the 2011 anime film From Up On Poppy Hill and the CG-animated Ronja the Robber’s Daughter anime series.
At the event, Xiaopeng invited Miyazaki to participate in the project.
