With new COVID-19 cases dropping down to just 26 in Tokyo, 51 in Osaka, and the pressures on the medical system easing, the governments of the greater Tokyo and Osaka Metropolitan have confirmed that they will be easing some COVID-19 restriction requests on all facets of Japanese life.
Though some will stay in place for the time being, as well as having restaurants needed to go through a certification process.
Infection rates in Japan are currently at the lowest in a year, with only 325 new cases across Japan on October 22.
