Shogakukan opened a website on Wednesday to announce that Hideki Arai’s Itoshi no Irene (Irene of Love) manga is inspiring live-action film adaptation.
The film will open in Japan in fall 2018, and will be the first time one of Arai’s manga is adapted for film.
The film centers on the life of a foreign woman named Irene who arrives at a poor town in Japan, as well as the people of that town.
Shogakukan published six compiled book volumes for the manga.
