While Kyoto Animation has not offered any details or clues about the new Free! project that they announced last weekend, they have posted the promo for the home video release of prequel anime movie High☆Speed! – Free! Starting Days-, which featured the unveiling.
High☆Speed! – Free! Starting Days -, a prequel story to the two Free! TV anime series aired in 2013 and 2014, was released on 120 screens in Japan on December 5, 2015, then sold about 500,000 tickets and earned 680 million yen from its entire domestic run.
It is the third most successful feature film for Kyoto Animation next to K-ON!: The Movie (2011/1.9 billion yen) and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (2010/830 million).
