Players absorb similarly colored enemy projectiles, but can be destroyed by differently colored enemy projectiles.
Game developer Treasure announced on Wednesday that it is preparing to release its Ikaruga game for PlayStation 4 and will make an official announcement next week.
Players must manage their color switches, choosing which projectiles to evade and which to absorb, while also strategizing around enemy colors.
Unlike some of the other ports of the game, the PlayStation 4 version will not be released by a third party.
