As expected, the film has already surpassed the total gross of Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo (15.5 billion yen) and James Cameron’s 2010 film Avatar (15.6 billion) in Japan, and has become the 9th top-grossing film in the history of the Japanese box office.
Now its total domestic gross has reached a gigantic 16.41 billion yen.
Its next possible targets are Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (2002/17.3 billion) and Bayside Shakedown 2 (2003/17.35 billion).
