If you’re in Japan and looking to buy official Studio Ghibli merchandise outside of the Ghibli Museum, there’s no better place to go than Japan’s Donguri Kyowakoku (“Acorn Republic”) retail chain. Here you’ll find gems like a remote-controlled Catbus, No Face folding fans and now, from 10 August, a Dancing Jiji piggy bank that plays music from the classic anime movie Kiki’s Delivery Service.
After every five coin deposits, the music changes, with a total of seven songs from Kiki’s Delivery Service played at random.
The new coin bank measures 24 centimetres (9.4 inches) in height and 10 centimetres in width, and will be available in-store and online for 6,480 yen (US$60.96).
Magical cat Jiji springs to life when you feed him coins.
