King & Prince Member Ren Nagase Set to Star in Yowamushi Pedal Live-Action Film

  • 20-year-old Ren Nagase, a member of Johnny & Associates’ boys idol group King & Prince, is cast as the protagonist Sakamichi Onoda.

  • Also, 22-year-old Kentaro Ito (Takao Kasuga in The Flowers of Evil live-action film) will play Sakamichi’s good rival Shunsuke Imaizumi, alongside 20-year-old Kanna Hashimoto (Kagura in the Gintama live-action film series) as the Sohoku High Bicycle Club’s female manager Miki Kanzaki.

  • A live-action film adaptation of Wataru Watanabe’s road bicycle racing-themed sports manga Yowamushi Pedal is set to be released in Japan on August 14, 2020, distributed by Shochiku.
