Fuji TV today announced the main voice cast and staff for the upcoming new TV anime adaptation of Osamu Akimoto’s super-long-running comedy manga series Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouen Mae Hashutsujo, KochiKame for short.
It will be the second TV anime adaptation following the first aired from 1996 to 2004, and all of the four main voice cast are set to reprise their roles, including 60-year-old LaSalle Ishii as the protagonist Kankichi Ryotsu.
He has been playing the character in the manga’s stage play adaptation as well since 1999. series is set to premiere on Fuji TV during this year.
