It was announced that mangaka Jiro Taniguchi died today at the age of 69.
Born in Tottori, Taniguchi debuted with Kareta Heya under Shounen Gahousha’s monthly Young Comic magazine.
He won the 1998 Osamu Tezuka Culture Award by illustrating the trilogy Bocchan no Jidai, which was written by Natsuo Sekikawa.
