Box Office Mojo is reporting that P.A. Works and Mari Okada’s Maquia – When the Promised Flower Blooms anime film earned US$160,988 during its two-week English subtitled run in United States theaters.
Eleven Arts Anime Studio began screening the film in theaters in the U.S. and Canada beginning on July 20.
Maquia is the directorial debut of anime screenwriter Okada (The Anthem of the Heart, anohana).
Maquia, an orphaned Iorph girl, lives her life in an oasis surrounded by friends, but somehow feels “alone”.
