The Wind Rises earned US$5,209,580 at 496 theaters, while My Hero Academia: Two Heroes screened at 556 theaters.
FUNimation Entertainment announced on Friday that the My Hero Academia: Two Heroes anime film earned US$5,768,366 in the United States and Canada during its theatrical run, making it the #10 highest-grossing domestic anime film of all time.
Funimation and TOHO hosted a world premiere of the film with English subtitles at Anime Expo on July 5.
