As of August 15, My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission has grossed over 1.6 billion yen (US$14.55 million) at the Japanese box office on the back of 1.28 million tickets sold.
Toho released the box office figures for the My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission anime film today, revealing not only that the film is doing amazingly well, but has already surpassed the lifetime gross of the first film in the series Two Heroes.
This means that World Heroes’ Mission has outgrossed Two Heroes, which had a final box office total of 1.6 billion yen ($14.10 million), and is on track this week to outgross the second film in the franchise, Heroes Rising, which currently stands at 1.79 billion yen (US$15.1 million).
