The game is a follow-up to the 2010 NieR game, and reunited the director, producer, and composer.
Square Enix announced on Tuesday that the NieR: Automata action RPG’s worldwide shipment and digital sales of the game have exceeded one million.
The game shipped for the PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 23, followed by North America on March 7 and Europe on March 10.
Freelance developer Taro Yoko (Drakengard series, NieR) helmed the project as director at Platinum Games.
