This year’s 24th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Nintendo will release a new version of its Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer system named the “Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer Shūkan Shōnen Jump Zōkan 50-shūnen Kinen Version” (Family Computer Weekly Shonen Jump 50th Anniversary Edition), containing 20 games based on Weekly Shonen Jump properties.
Nintendo released the Classic Edition for its Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in the West and an equivalent Family Computer (Famicom) in Japan in November 2016.
Nintendo released the SNES Classic Edition in the West last September, and the equivalent Classic Mini Super Famicom in Japan debuted last October.
Shipments of the Famicom Classic also ended in Japan, although Nintendo noted it was temporary.
