Nintendo will announce the successor to the Switch console within the company’s current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025.
Nintendo launched the Switch console in March 2017, and has sold 141.32 million units as of May 7 earlier this year.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa revealed with a post on the official Nintendo X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday that games for the Nintendo Switch system will remain playable on Switch’s planned successor.
Furukawa added that the Switch Online subscription service will also be available on the successor console.
