The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences’ D.I.C.E. Awards awarded Nintendo co-representative director and Technology Fellow Genyo Takeda a Lifetime Achievement Award last Friday.
He designed Nintendo’s first arcade game EVR Race, a game that Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto called “the first video game Nintendo released.”
Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was also awarded Game of the Year, Adventure Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design.
Takeda had been instrumental as a designer in numerous points in the company’s gaming history.
