Nozomi Entertainment announced on Wednesday that its license for The Rose of Versailles anime is expiring.
The company announced its license for the 40-episode classic anime in 2012, and released two limited edition DVD sets in 2013.
The series is streaming on Nozomi’s YouTube channel until June 15, and it will also stop streaming on Crunchyroll “soon.”
The story is set in the intrigue-filled court of Queen Marie Antoinette before and during the upheavals of the French Revolution.
