Microsoft Research published a study on October 6 that revealed that players of Pokémon Go account for an estimated 144 billion steps taken in its first 30 days of release in the United States.
The players queried for the study had an average age of 33, with 36.5% overweight and 28.2% obese.
The Pokémon Go iOS and Android app launched in select countries including the United States on July 6, and has since launched in more than 100 countries and territories.
