TOHO began streaming three character videos on Thursday for Studio 4°C’s anime film of Akihiro Nishino’s Poupelle of Chimney Town (Entotsu-chō no Poupelle) picture book.
The film will feature new elements and characters that did not appear in the original picture book.
Actor Masataka Kubota (live-action Tokyo Ghoul, Death Note television series) stars in the film as Poupelle, a “trashman” that was born from garbage.
The story is set in a town surrounded by a wall that stands 4,000 meters (about 2.5 miles) tall.
