The new anime will depict previously untold stories in the three months between the stories of the first Prince of Tennis manga and Shin Tennis no Ōji-sama (The New Prince of Tennis or The Prince of Tennis II) manga.
Crunchyroll streamed The Prince of Tennis II television anime into several countries as it aired in Japan, and it then streamed the spinoff original video anime projects.
Konami then launched The Prince of Tennis II manga series in Jump Square magazine in 2009.
It inspired a Flash anime that was included with The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs. Genius 10 home video releases.
