Actor Ryūki Takahashi announced on his blog on Wednesday that he will retire from the entertainment business to focus on his health and medical treatment.
Takahashi played the role of the protagonist Ryōma Echizen for the stage musical adaptations of Takeshi Konomi’s The Prince of Tennis in five productions from 2008 to 2010.
He consulted with family members and staff, and decided that he needed to retire to take care of his health.
He also played the character Kengo Utahoshi in the Kamen Rider Fourze series and in the films, and the character Yūya Kitaoka in the live-action television series Mahō Shōjo o Wasurenai.
