For this year’s campaign in Fukuoka and Hiroshima prefecture, leading condom maker in Japan, Okamoto, along with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan, are using Sailor Moon as their mascot for sexual disease prevention. This isn’t the first time Sailor Moon has been used for awareness of sexually transmitted diseases, with posters being created in 2016 by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to be put up in centers all over the country.
For the 2019 campaign, if you go to Markis in Fukuoka on October 5, or Alice Garden, which is in front of PARCO Hiroshima, on October 14, you’ll be given a free Sailor Moon condom until stocks last.
AAA (Act Against AIDS), Okamoto Travers Institute, AIDS Prevention Foundation, Fukuoka CROSS FM, and Hiroshima FM Broadcasting have joined forces this year to raise awareness of STD’s and HIV in Japan.
