Rena Is Back as New Higurashi When They Cry Anime Project Is Announced

  • The original Higurashi When They Cry TV anime was broadcast in 2006 from Chiaki Kon (Golden Time, Sailor Moon Crystal) at Studio DEEN.

  • It has not been announced whether the new anime project is an OVA – like many adaptations of the franchise – or a full TV series.

  • It has been announced that the project will be animated at Passione (Rail Wars, citrus) with character designs by Akio Watanabe (Monogatari series, The World God Only Knows).
