On behalf of Crunchyroll, I’d like to wish Miki Nishikawa the best of luck in the future with her athletic endeavors.
Miki Nishikawa, a 17 year old high school student and Olympic candidate who hopes to compete in the rifle shooting events in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, recently told Japanese TV that she was inspired to take up the sport by the exploits of Riza Hawkeye, the crackshot markswoman from Hiromu Arakawa’s manga and TV anime Fullmetal Alchemist.
Nishikawa explained that although some people may think it’s strange to compare oneself to a character in a manga, she thought that if Riza Hawkeye could be so cool when handling a rifle, then Nishikawa herself could also aspire to do the same.
