Tanaka is best known as the author of the epic science fiction novel series The Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Ginga Eiyū Densetsu), as well as the epic fantasy novel series The Heroic Legend of Arslan (Arslan Senki).
This year’s 11th issue of Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine revealed last Friday that Sei Itoh’s manga adaptation of Yoshiki Tanaka’s Tenjiku Neppūroku (The Chronicle of the Scorching Winds of India) historical fiction novel will end in the magazine’s next issue on June 14.
The novel tells a fictional version of the story of historical Tang China diplomat Wang Xuance, centering on his diplomatic journey from Tang Dynasty China to the Empire of Harsha in India in the 7th century CE.
Both series have inspired anime, OVA, and manga adaptations.
