Square Enix announced with a video on Monday that it will add Final Fantasy VII’s Sephiroth as a playable character in its Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade game.
Square Enix released Dissidia Final Fantasy, a PlayStation Portable fighting game featuring Final Fantasy heroes and villains, in 2008 in Japan, and in 2009 in other parts of the world.
The game launched in Japanese arcades in November 2015, and previous updates this year added Final Fantasy Tactics’ Ramza Beoulve, Final Fantasy’s Garland, Final Fantasy IV’s Kain Highwind, Final Fantasy VI antagonist Kefka Palazzo, and Final Fantasy Type-0’s Ace as playable characters.
Square Enix announced the Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia game for release on smartphones this year.
