Shigeru Tsuchiyama’s Gokudō Meshi manga is inspiring a new live-action series that will premiere on BS Japan on July 14.
The manga inspired a live-action film directed by Tetsu Maeda and starring Tasuku Nagaoka, Masanobu Katsumura, Akaji Maro, and Motoki Ochiai.
The prisoners battle over entrees in their New Year’s Day meals by telling the best stories about these meals.
The series launched in Futabasha’s Manga Action anthology in 2006, and ended in 2012 with 10 compiled volumes.
