The first Silver Spoon anime season based on the manga aired on Fuji TV’s Noitamina late-night programming block in July 2013, and the second season premiered in January 2014.
The same issue also published the final chapter of Arakawa’s Silver Spoon manga.
The manga won 2012’s Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) and Booklog awards, and 2013’s Shogakukan Manga Awards in the boys’ category.
This year’s 52nd issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine asked fans on Wednesday to “look forward to a new story by creator Hiromu Arakawa.”
