The story follows Shun Yanagiba, the third generation heir to a sushi restaurant in Ginza who trains studiously to become a master sushi chef after his father, the current head chef, is incapacitated.
The original Edomae no Shun manga has been serialized in Nihon Bungeisha’s Weekly Manga Goraku magazine since 2000, and a total of 94 collected volumes have also been published in Japan.
TV viewers who dream of fancy sushi will soon be able to take a bite out of Edomae no Shun (“Tokyo-style Seasonal Dishes”), an upcoming live-action TV drama based on the manga written by Mori Tsukumo and illustrated by Terushi Satou about a young man training to become a master sushi chef.
