The iDragons animation studio announced on Thursday that The King of Fighters: Destiny, the animated adaptation of The King of Fighters fighting game franchise, will get two more 24-episode seasons that will lead to a film finale.
The announcement noted that the new seasons will take the series’ story from The King of Fighters ’94 to The King of Fighters ’97, covering the games’ Orochi story arc.
SNK released The King of Fighters XIV, the latest installment in the franchise, for PlayStation 4 in August 2016.
The franchise is also inspiring a new manga titled The King of Fighters ~A New Beginning~ by Kyōtarō Azuma in Kodansha’s Manga Pocket app.
