"The Sion Sono" Documentary Chronicles Avant-Garde Film Director

Directed by Arata Oshima (son of Nagata Oshima, director of In The Realm of the Senses), the 97 minute documentary was filmed during the production of Sion Sono’s latest film, The Whispering Star.

Sion Sono (All Esper Dayo!, Tokyo Tribes) is a controversial and prolific author, poet, and film director, and a new documentary entitled The Sion Sono will take a look behind the scenes at Sono’s creative process.

The Whispering Star and The Sion Sono both hit Japanese movie theaters on May 14, 2016.
