The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Amazon, Walmart.com, and some other venues.
ICv2 also offered the list with sales numbers for ICv2 Pro members.
NPD BookScan announced in September it plans to add in sales numbers from comic book stores in partnership with Diamond Comics and indie retailers in the coming year, but hasn’t yet revealed a specific date the change will take place.
The first volume of Tokyo Ghoul also ranked at #7 in NPD BookScan’s general Top 20 Graphic Novels list, and volumes of My Hero Academia, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, The Legend of Zelda Legendary Edition, One-Punch Man, and Death Note Black Edition are also ranked on the list.
