Violet Evergarden: The Movie Gets 4K HDR Blu-Ray Release in Japan on August 4

  • One of those editions, the Blu-ray special edition, will mark the first-ever release of a Kyoto Animation work in 4K and HDR, utilizing the Dolby Vision HDR format conversion that saw the film be the first original anime film to be screened in Dolby Vision’s HDR format.

  • The official website for the Violet Evergarden franchise announced today that the award-winning Violet Evergarden: The Movie will get its Japanese home release on August 4 in three different editions.

  • The Dolby Vision version opened separately on November 13 in 7 theaters across Japan.
