Oricon reported today that Violet Evergarden: the Movie, the latest anime film from beloved anime studio Kyoto Animation and their in-house director Taichi Ishidate, has grossed 1,912,896,400 yen (US$18,354,055), which now makes it the second-highest-grossing anime film produced at Kyoani, overtaking K-On! the Movie’s 1.9 billion yen (US$18.2 million) gross.
Violet Evergarden: the Movie is now the second-highest-grossing Kyoto Animation film after A Silent Voice, which grossed 2.3 billion yen (US$22.06 million) over its lifetime run in Japanese theaters.
Oricon also noted that Violet Evergarden: the Movie had been in the top 10 of the Japanese Box Office for an impressive 10 weeks!
